And after the storm,
I run and run as the rains come
And I look up, I look up,
on my knees and out of luck,
I look up.

Night has always pushed up day
You must know life to see decay
But I won’t rot, I won’t rot
Not this mind and not this heart,
I won’t rot.
After the Storm by Mumford and Sons

R.E.M. cycles

So I’ve been in a really indie writing mood lately. My preferences of music constantly change, therefore constantly effect my lyrics and the melodies that correspond.

Here’s a peek into the lyrics:

I take solace in the time that I once knew to be
R.E.M. cycles of the twilight, the moon reflecting on my sheets.
keep walkin’ those stairs man, you’ve got a big plan there,
it’s only once a week with no sleep. You can keep the daylight,
I want the nightlife!

You can keep your flashlight. I won’t fight just to let you see
but that spiral blacklight, on the stand, brings back such good memories.
I’d rather stay awake than try to escape
this stressful world awhile.
try and hold me back and I’ll always attack but
only if it’s after hours, after hours.
