Our Lord says to be careful only about one thing - our relationship to Him.
— Oswald Chambers

hey you!

Yeah you.. you ridiculously good looking person. Thanks for following this blog:)

Just though I’d let you know, besides my gratitude to you, that during this season of Lent, I will be restricting myself to one hour of internet a day.

This is being done not because I don’t like you, or that I want to mess up this wonderful community that we are building online but to reconcile relationships that I have lost in real life, one specifically, is mine with God.

Since this blog is about real life, then I figure it would be pretty hypocritical to denounce, ignore and simply not interact with others in real life, and restrict and alienate myself to this computer. Too much time in my life has been lost to my computer doing mindless things, like facebook, myspace, etc. I want to take this time and put it towards something constructive in real life, like building my relationship with christ and scripture, with peers, family, old friends, with my younger small group guys that I lead, and also to create new relationships as well.

Also with only one hour to use the internet, I hope to construct this hour so that it serves great purpose for the community I’ve created while using the internet.

So no, this blog will not be going down the tank, rather I’ll be using it to update you on my progress, and write blogs and include items that are important, or may even inspire you (I hope).

Lent isn’t about just giving up a bad habit, or stopping an everyday thing for a little while, but “it is a time to focus on opening up ourselves to God, to examine ourselves in the presence of the One who created us, knows us and loves us; and, a time to allow God to transform us.” - Beach United Methodist

Thanks for reading, and please lend me your thoughts

if anyone is interested, a few friends of mine decided to fast every monday, sun up to sun down for lent. If you decide to do so with us, let me know! It’s not as hard as you’d think!
